This surgery typically involves procedures such as phalloplasty or metoidioplasty, which are aimed at constructing male genitalia. How Does Body Contour Work?

Phalloplasty or Metoidioplasty

In this step, a phallus is created using either phalloplasty, which constructs a penis from donor tissue (usually from the forearm or thigh), or metoidioplasty, where the existing genital tissue is utilised to form a smaller phallus. Both procedures may include urethral lengthening for urination while standing.

Chest Masculinisation

Chest masculinisation, commonly known as top surgery, involves the removal of breast tissue and reshaping the chest to create a more masculine appearance. This procedure helps align the chest with your gender identity.

Hysterectomy (if needed)

A hysterectomy may be performed as part of the surgery to remove the uterus and, in some cases, the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

    Body contour for masculinisation involves transforming the genitalia and chest to create a masculine appearance. The process includes constructing a penis (phalloplasty or metoidioplasty), chest masculinisation, and, if required, a hysterectomy. The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and typically lasts several hours, depending on the complexity of the case. Post-surgery, patients stay in the hospital for monitoring before heading home to continue recovery.

    This will last around 90 minutes and include a short form filling exercise for your previous and current ocular and health conditions.
