Anaesthesia

Incisions

Incisions are typically made inside the nostrils (closed rhinoplasty) or across the columella, the tissue between the nostrils (open rhinoplasty). These approaches help minimise visible scarring.

Reshaping the Nose

The surgeon will reshape the nasal bone and cartilage to achieve the desired contour. This may involve reducing or augmenting the bridge, refining the tip, or adjusting the nostrils' size.

Correcting Functional Issues

If there are breathing difficulties due to structural issues like a deviated septum, these can be corrected during the same procedure to improve nasal function.

Closing the Incisions

Once the reshaping is complete, the incisions are closed with sutures, and the nose may be supported with a splint to protect the new shape during the initial healing phase.

Recovery
