How Does Vocal Surgery Work?

Preoperative Consultation

Your surgeon will evaluate your current voice, discuss your desired outcomes, and perform a vocal assessment to ensure you are a suitable candidate for the procedure.

Anaesthesia

Vocal surgery is performed under general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation, ensuring you are comfortable and pain-free during the procedure.

    Vocal Surgery Procedure Explained

    Vocal surgery is a highly specialised procedure that involves modifying the vocal cords to change the pitch and resonance of the voice. The surgery typically lasts 1-2 hours, and you will be able to return home the same day. The recovery period includes vocal rest and gradual reintroduction of voice use, with full healing and results expected within 6-8 weeks.
    This will last around 90 minutes and include a short form filling exercise for your previous and current ocular and health conditions.
    Whilst the consultation is free most of our patients proceed to have a vested interest in proceeding with treatment and many report to have life changing outcomes.
    Vocal surgery is performed under general or local anaesthesia and typically lasts 1-2 hours. After the procedure, you will be monitored briefly before being discharged to rest at home. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your recovery.
